In June 2008 the first biogas plant that was built by MT-Energie in the Czech Republic in the village Kardasoˇva Rˇecˇice was commissioned. The agricultural society AGRO-B s.r.o produces electricity and heat from cattle and pig manure as well as maize silage for the Czech energy consumers. Approximately 8.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity are fed into the power grid by the plant.
Engineer Jan Marek, Manager of AGRO-B s.r.o., is pleased with the smooth commissioning: „After a short startup phase, the plant has reached its full load very quickly.“
The accumulated heat of the biogas plant is used for large farms for heating buildings and drying grain. The ingenious heat concept saves energy costs and thus increases the long-term competitiveness of
the farm.
