Do your bacteria have all the nutrients they need in order to be happy?
Microorganisms only achieve their maximum performance levels under ideal conditions. Apart from temperature, pH and a sufficiently mixed tank content, these conditions also include the supply with essential trace elements and volume elements.
If the above are lacking, the bacteria switch to “economy mode”. They are highly economy-minded creatures and only invest energy in processes which will give them more energy back. At first the bacteria pursue the decomposition steps which generate the highest yield. Only then will they seek more complex paths.
If a trace element is missing, the bacteria will not utilize the entire biogas potential from the feed. This means that the costly daily feed has to be increased in order to achieve the required amount of gas, although this may be possible with less material. In such a scenario, mineral powder mixes might be of help.
What is your biology lacking?
We offer an independent analysis of your digester material including 13 volume elements and trace elements and report the actual state to you together with the target values for a biology that works with maximum efficiency. Using this analysis you will be able to decide, which methods you want to use to improve your process. Naturally we will always be at hand to advise you on the basis of our long-term expertise.
